ReBooked is an award-winning non-profit social enterprise with a mission to promote sustainability in literacy through the reuse and redistribution of books.
Since its launch in 2019, with both an online shop and retail presence, ReBooked has become Hong Kong’s premiere platform for secondhand children’s books.
ReBooked collaborates with schools, NGOs, corporations, and community partners to organize book collection campaigns and education-related programs. ReBooked has also expanded overseas, with branches in Brazil and Turkey and a dynamic outreach and literacy program in the Philippines.
Our sustainability goals for 2024 – 2025:
We aim to collect, reuse, and redistribute over 100,000 children’s books in Hong Kong in 2024-2025. Locally, we plan on continuing to partner with local charities, schools, or organizations to distribute donated books to children in need and promote responsible recycling of damaged or unsellable books through appropriate recycling channels. We also aim to leverage our social media platforms and retail space to actively engage and educate our community on sustainability and environmental practices.
At a global level, we hope to continue operations of our chapters in Turkey, Brazil, and potential new locations, thereby promoting environmental sustainability and social responsibility in those respective regions.
Moreover, we hope to connect with other like-minded organisations encouraging a circular economy or triple bottom line. We are always looking for new community partners who are aligned with our goals in any way and are open to discussion about collaboration. We are also excited to explore new ideas or methods of furthering sustainability in our day-to-day practices, such as using sustainable packaging for our online orders.
